Magick is the science and art of causing change (in consciousness) to occur in conformity with will, using means not currently understood by traditional Western science.  When speaking of ritual magick we generally use the old English spelling, with a "k" on the end, so that it is not confused with "parlor magic", the art of illusion.  The traditional magician may be either Qabballistic, Celtic, Nordic, or may use the different traditions in combination.  The thing to remember is that, we, as magicians, do not worship, invoke, or call upon Satan, or any of the demons for our powers.  A Satanist is not a Magician!  The traditional Qabballistic magician believes in one "Ultimate Divinity", creator of all things, including the lesser Gods and Goddesses.  We also believe that part of this "Ultimate Divinity" dwells in all of us, one and the same.  The Bible is one of the greatest occult works, and when understood as such, many things become clear.  Jesus said, "do unto others as you would have them do unto you".  Why?  Because since the same Divinity dwells in all of us what you do to others you also do to yourself!
White, Grey, or Black Magick?  In Eastern cultures, White Magick is called yoga.  The word "yoga" comes from the Sanskrit and means yoke or union.  It is the goal of the Yoga to become united with the Divinity which dwells within.  In the West we call this mysticism.  White Magick than is the science and art of causing change to occur in conformity with will, using means not currently understood by traditional Western science, for the purpose of obtaining the Knowledge and Conversation of your Holy Guardian Angel, or inner Divinity.
Black Magick.  Black Magick is the science and art of causing change to occur in conformity with will, using means not currently understood by traditional Western science, for the purpose of causing either physical or non-physical harm to yourself or others, and is dine either consciously or unconsciously.  The wise magician tries to avoid using Black Magick, if at all possible.
Grey Magick.  Grey Magick is the science and art of causing change to occur in conformity with will, using means not currently  understood by traditional Western science, for the purpose of causing either physical or non-physical good to yourself or others, and is done either consciously or unconsciously.
As an example, supposed you done a healing ritual for a friend, by definition, this is Grey Magick, because you are doing something for the physical good of another.  Since you performed the ritual to help another, you also feel closer to Divinity, thus it is also White Magick.
On the other hand, suppose you done a ritual to obtain a thousand dollars.  This is Grey Magick, because it would to physical good to you.  Let's assume, however, that a week after doing the ritual, your Uncle Harry is killed in a car crash, and wills you a thousand dollars.  Well, your ritual worked, you got the thousand dollar, but you also unconsciously caused harm to another person, because Uncle Harry was killed!  Now your Grey Magick has become Black!
The different forms of Magick, vary slightly, but are basically the same.  Although magick seldom works as in Faerie Tales, that is, you wave your wand, and "poof", something happens, it does work.  Magick has been found in all societies, throughout the ages, including the Jews of the Old Testament.
